A Family Tradition of Cleaning Excellence

The idea for Early Bird Cleaning Services was born in 2012 around a dining room table in Whistler, B.C. While sharing a meal with family and friends, the conversation turned to the frustrations of hiring home services. One friend mentioned a lack of professionalism; another couldn’t find consistency; a third was constantly disappointed by the quality of work.

As we headed home that evening, we began reminiscing about our own history in the cleaning industry—which, interestingly enough, is exactly how we met! We realized how much we truly enjoyed the work and the simple satisfaction of a job well done.

Then, it clicked. We knew we could fill that gap. We envisioned a company built on reliability, high-level management standards, and a “never let the customer down” philosophy. We didn’t want to stop at the front door; we wanted to provide a total home solution, offering both premium interior housekeeping and expert exterior cleaning.

From Our Family to Yours

Shortly after that night, we transitioned out of our management careers, launched Early Bird Cleaning, and welcomed our first child into the world. Today, our family has grown to include two wonderful kids, and we feel incredibly lucky to call the Comox Valley our home.

Currently, Luke operates the cleaning side of the business solely, bringing his years of expertise and attention to detail to every property. Heidi manages the bookkeeping and operations behind the scenes while dedicated to being a stay-at-home mum for the time being.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes, Early Bird Cleaning is fully licensed, insured, and WorkSafeBC covered. We prioritize the safety of our staff and the security of your property, providing peace of mind for every job.

What areas do you serve?

We are based in Courtenay and proudly serve the entire Comox Valley, including Cumberland, Comox, Royston, Black Creek, Merville, and Oyster River. We also offer professional exterior cleaning in Union Bay and Fanny Bay.

Do I need to be home during the cleaning?

No, many of our clients provide us with a key or entry code. We are local professionals who treat your home with the utmost respect and integrity whether you are home or away.

Window Cleaning (Methods & Specialty Services)

What window cleaning methods do you use?

We utilize both traditional squeegee methods and modern pure water-fed pole technology. While pure water is excellent for regular maintenance, we use traditional hand-cleaning methods for all interior glass and storefronts to ensure a hand-detailed, streak-free shine.

Why do you use traditional methods for first-time cleans and post-construction?

For first-time exterior cleans and all post-construction window cleaning, we always use traditional methods. This allows our technicians to get “eyes-on” the glass to safely remove heavy debris, paint overspray, or stickers. This ensures the best possible results for the initial restoration of your glass.

Do you clean skylights?

Yes! We clean both interior and exterior skylights. If your interior skylights are accessible, we have the specialized ladders and equipment to reach them safely, ensuring your home gets the maximum amount of natural light.

Will you clean my window screens and tracks too?

Absolutely. Our professional window cleaning service includes the glass, screens, and tracks to ensure a flawless finish inside and out.

Do I have to remember to book my window cleaning every year?

No! Once your first service is complete, you are added to our Priority Customer List. Your property becomes our priority. We can automatically schedule you for annual or bi-annual cleanings so your windows stay crystal clear year-round.

Gutter & Exterior Cleaning (Protection & Maintenance)

How often should I have my gutters cleaned?

We recommend a professional gutter cleaning at least twice a year (spring and fall) to prevent clogs and water damage. Once we’ve serviced your home, we can automatically place you on our spring/fall rotation for priority scheduling.

Do you offer gutter guard installation?

We sell and install high-efficiency metal gutter baskets. Standard plastic guards often plug easily, causing gutters to overflow. Our metal baskets sit over the downspout, allowing debris to pack against them while ensuring water continues to flow freely through the holes and down the spout.

Do you flush the downspouts during a gutter clean?

Yes. We ensure every downspout is clear and flowing freely to your perimeter drains; a gutter isn’t truly clean if the water has nowhere to go.

What is "Soft Washing" and why is it better than pressure washing?

Soft washing uses low pressure (less than 500 PSI) and specialized eco-friendly solutions to clean siding, soffits and gutter extyeriors. It removes mold and algae without the risk of damaging your home’s exterior materials that high-pressure washing can cause.

What is included in a "Move-Out Deep Clean"?

Our move-out cleaning service is comprehensive! It includes cleaning the interior and exterior of appliances (fridge, oven, dishwasher), cleaning behind appliances, inside cabinets and drawers, deep cleaning bathrooms, washing walls and baseboards, and a thorough floor clean.

Do you provide your own cleaning supplies and equipment?

Yes, we come fully equipped with professional-grade tools and eco-friendly cleaning products

Booking & Payments

What is your cancellation policy?

We understand life happens! We ask for at least 48 hours notice for cancellations or rescheduling so we can adjust our team’s schedule.

How do I pay for my service?

We accept E-transfer and Cheques. Payment is typically due upon completion of the service.

Do you offer one-time cleanings or only recurring contracts?

We do both! Whether you need a one-time spring clean, a post-construction deep clean, or regular bi-weekly maintenance, we can accommodate your needs.
